"The Ruggedy Isles"

"This remarkable view on Stewart Island's north-west circuit shows the Ruggedy Range on the left, with East Ruggedy beach & the Ruggedy Islands off to the right (Codfish island lies on the distant horizon). With my hiking buddies Evan & Mike, our jaws dropped when our eyes first laid sight on this 4 days earlier, but that afternoon had been overcast. So I reckoned a change in our itinerary was needed & we stayed the next four nights at East Ruggedy hut (tucked away in the forest, left of the sand dunes in the distance). It was a good decision & allowed us time to explore the surrounding area & we experienced a big storm in between, which was pretty dramatic! Then on our last morning, I left the hut at 5am to trek back up the muddy track, where I waited for the sun to slowly rise. On such a perfect still morning, the sandflies were out in force & loving me, but I persevered & was rewarded with this spectacular landscape."

“When Peter delivered our pieces, we couldn't believe the incredible detail. The images on his website - impressive as they are - really didn't do our prints justice!“
