"Summertime"

“I had often admired the stature of this grand pohutukawa, but I'd only ever seen it with sparse blooms before. That was until christmas day 2009, when I packed a flask of tea & mince pies & made my pilgrimage in the early hours to capture this scene. You can spot Great Barrier island on the distant horizon too, it was the clearest of mornings. A rare christmas day when the weather was simply picture perfect.”

Exposure: 1/125 sec @ f16 ISO 100
