"You'd be amazed at how many churches the early Catholic missionaries built around the west coast of the Hokianga, this lovely example is St. Gabriels church, but there are actually two more in the distance! I scouted this area the day before & returned at dawn, waited for the sun to rise & then witnessed it slowly develop into this painterly sky. Two local men armed with spears were catching flounder & the cows were wandering on the beach, a typical sight in these parts! A very remote, yet utterly beautiful place!"
