"Slice Of Heaven"

“I visited this beautiful stretch of coast several years prior, but on that trip I really didn't exploit the full potential of this view. Advance five years & it was time for another crack! I made a reconnaissance trip the week before to check the pohutukawa flowers, but they were a little later this year & needed more time to develop. Another week ought to do it? But when I arrived on this morning, I was greeted by heavy cloud - damn! I decided to hang about & see if things might improve...over several hours an off-shore breeze dispersed the clouds, the wind & sea gradually calmed & this sensational scene slowly revealed itself to me. The way the afternoon sun was lighting the blooms & creating the dark shadows behind them is quite unique & is unlike any other pohutukawa scene I’ve captured before. Definitely a little ‘Slice Of Heaven’!”
