“Stirling Falls are a spectacular highlight of Milford Sound, throwing a tremendous volume of water hundreds of metres down the vertical cliffs. I captured numerous horizontal & vertical images from varying distances, but what surprised me was the sheer variety of patterns from one frame to the next. And yet the naked eye, the spray appears as a fairly continuous pattern & thunderous roar! I favoured this image, for it captured the contrast of such awesome power versus sheer beauty."
