"How many times have I admired this view of the Pinnacles enroute to Whitianga over the years? Hundreds & hundreds of times! I finally had it at the top of my list & I waited for winter, wanting a layer of fog to add atmosphere. My first couple of trips failed & then when I arrived on this particular morning, the fog was so thick you couldn't see a thing! So I waited & waited, until the sun finally began to burn it off. And as the sun rose through the layers of cloud, this sequence where the light burst through a gap & struck just the middle of the scene was pure magic."
