"Ice Arch"

"I had just taken the plunge into medium format dgital, but I was waiting for another lens to arrive from New York. So by the time that landed and I headed to the South Island, the big snow of July 2007 had melted, damn! Disheartened, I ignored the weather forecast which looked terrible and turned towards the west coast, arriving at Fox Glacier in perfect conditions! In order to make the most of it, I teamed up with a guide and spent the next day hiking all over the glacier, where I captured this remarkable ice arch."
