"Earnslaw Burn"

"I first hiked up the Earnslaw Burn in early May a few years before taking this image, with clear weather it was absolutely stunning & this also meant an icy tent each morning! But my plans for capturing this grand scenery were foiled by the low autumn sun glaring into my lens above Mt Earnslaw & the waterfalls lacked the water they needed. I tried again that December, but the weather had other ideas & it took two more years to get a fine break near Christmas. On this my third attempt & with the summer sun high in the sky, I spent several hours here at the head of the valley absorbing the magnificence of it all. I think you’d have to travel a long way to find anywhere that eclipses this place, it’s just incredible."
