"A spring hike to Fenella hut in the Kahurangi's Cobb Valley delivered a welcome surprise - fresh snow. It had started earlier in the day at lower altitude in the valley, so by the time I crossed this river as I neared the hut, it was snowing thick & fast! I was immediately drawn to this south island beech tree which made a beautiful statement, resembling a Japanese bonsai I thought. I struggled to lean back far enough on the bridge to fit everything into this single frame, but thank goodness for wide angle lenses!
